01How is APF CPCβ„’ different from traditional HR certifications like SHRM-CP or SPHR?+
SHRM and HRCI certifications validate HR knowledge against a codified body. APF CPCβ„’ validates your ability to operate a People function in an AI-augmented, multi-generational workforce β€” and to coach leaders through the transformation. It is complementary to SHRM/HRCI (in fact, CPCβ„’ earns you 24 HRCI CPE credits), but it measures something different: practice, not recall.
02Do I need prior coaching experience to enrol?+
No. APF CPCβ„’ teaches coaching competencies from the ground up, ICF-accredited. What you do need is 2+ years of HR or People Operations experience (or equivalent consulting/coaching experience) β€” so the program can focus on mastery rather than orientation.
03What's the capstone exactly β€” and is there an exam?+
Both. You sit a written assessment covering APFβ„’ principles, governance, systems thinking, and coaching. You also build and present a live PeopleOps Transformation Roadmap to your instructor and cohort. The credential requires passing both β€” which is why employers take it seriously.
04What happens if I can't attend all 4 days live?+
APF CPCβ„’ is a live cohort, not an asynchronous course. Full attendance is the expectation. If an emergency prevents you from attending a day, you can transfer your seat to the next cohort at no cost β€” we hold your place and your payment for up to 12 months.
05Does the credential expire? What does renewal look like?+
APF CPCβ„’ stays current through Continuous Learning Units (CLUs). You earn CLUs by participating in APFβ„’ Labs, mentoring, writing, or attending community sessions. CLUs convert to renewal fees, so engaged alumni effectively keep the credential current at zero additional cost. Standard annual membership is $700.
06How does CPCβ„’ relate to HARI Lβ„’ and the other APF credentials?+
CPCβ„’ is the flagship foundation. From CPCβ„’ you can progress to APF CPTCβ„’ (ICF ACTC Team Coaching), APF CCPβ„’ (ICF Level 1 ACC coaching). CPCβ„’ also makes you HARI Lβ„’ ready β€” the facilitated individual AI governance assessment for CHROs and People leaders.
